Calculation notes

Pricing basis. This calculator uses Microsoft UK commercial list prices for Dynamics 365 Dataverse capacity add-ons (annual commitment with annual payment). Your billed prices may differ if you purchase through a Cloud Solution Provider, hold an Enterprise Agreement, qualify for non-profit or academic pricing, or are billed in a different currency. Use this tool to model the shape of potential savings, then validate the exact figures against your own agreement.

Add-on prices used in this calculator (Microsoft UK commercial list, GBP):

  • Dataverse Database Capacity add-on: £30.80/GB/month
  • Dataverse File Capacity add-on: £1.54/GB/month
  • Dataverse Log Capacity add-on: £7.70/GB/month
  • Azure Blob Hot tier (estimate): £0.018/GB/month

Existing utilisation is calculated as used capacity divided by total available capacity (entitlement plus any paid add-on). This shows how much of your total capacity ceiling you are currently consuming.

How cost avoided is calculated. Cost avoided is driven entirely by the levers. Without lever movement, no add-on is treated as redundant — even if existing consumption already sits below entitlement. As levers free capacity and consumption falls, any portion of paid add-on that was previously needed to cover usage above entitlement becomes redundant. That redundant add-on (in GB) is multiplied by the relevant monthly rate × 12 to give the annual cost avoided. Partial reductions are supported.
