With Wave 1 looming in Spring, we wanted to highlight one of the more exciting features coming to the Sales application, the Kanban view.
The word Kanban comes from Japan, and is a method to manage and improve work across human systems. Kanban boards visually depict work at various stages of a process using cards to represent work items and columns to represent each stage of the process. Cards are moved from left to right to show progress and to help coordinate teams performing the work. A Kanban board may be divided into horizontal "swimlanes" representing different kinds of work or different teams performing the work.
With Dynamics 365 Sales, you can view opportunities using this view, making it easy to see the pipelines.
Feature details
- Easily toggle between the existing grid view and the new Kanban view.
- Sellers can view their opportunity pipeline by sales path on the Kanban board.
- Simplified and intuitive experience to move opportunities into a different stage. The Kanban view allows your sales team to move opportunities from one stage to another by simply dragging them.
We've shared a sneak peak screenshot of what the view will look like below.

In Summary, we think this is an excellent tool to help sales teams manage opportunities as different stages of the sell. We think it will likely be expanded at some point to be used by other Dynamics 365 applications kanban is a diverse philosophy.
